Sorry about the lack of updates around here but it’s almost the end of term and I’m in the middle of my assignments.  Anyway, last week we were granted rare access to the Church extension so we were able to be a bit more energetic than usual – although not as energetic as Graham would’ve liked ;o)  We enjoyed a few games of table tennis, pool and foosball!  We even had time for a quick mini table tennis tournament.

Despite Flic’s insistence that she was no good at devotions, she opened the evening with a really challenging, mind- and faith-stretching topic: the ethics of embryonic gender selection.  We had a great discussion, but I don’t have time to do it justice now – perhaps another day!

There’s been a bit of re-jigging of the programme – the basic detail is below, but please take a look at the calendar and see if you’re responsible for anything between now and Christmas.

This week: T-Shirt Decorating – bring a light coloured t-shirt with you and transform it into something.

Next week: Film Making Final Session – this is it, the final slog!

Following week: Christmas Party & Retro Amicus – not sure how many Uni bods will be back and joining us, but we’ll be celebrating Christmas together and usual Amicus style, and watching some of the early Amicus films – not to be missed!

We started with a sedate game of Pool and a nippletastic game of ’round-the-table’ Table Tennis before heading into the manic world of “skittle ball“. The team selection resulted in girls (and Ricky) versus boys – and although the “girls” ran away with it for a while, the boys came back strong and made it a very close game in the second half. On this occasion I was glad to be considered a girl as we won at the last moment. After a brief rest, and a short kick-about for the lads, we joined together again for a high-energy game of Unihoc. There were a few dodgy moments but no lasting damage, and in the end it proved to be an excellent. The whole evening was very energetic and it’s at times like this that I almost don’t mind only getting decent access to the Youth Hall at half term ;o)

We were very happy to be joined by David Putman (following some serious prodding from Sarah) and we hope to see him back again soon.
